Alumni Awardees & Awards Schedule 2009
The Alumni Association is proud to announce the 2009 Alumni Award Honorees, who will be celebrated at the Alumni Awards Ceremony on Friday, October 30, 5:30 p.m. on the Pittsburgh Campus. All alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends are invited.
The School of Art and College of Fine Arts is proud to present alumnus Ed Mieczkowski with a 2009 Alumni Achievement Award.
A pioneering Op Art and Geometric Abstraction artist, Ed Mieczkowski has “made dazzling paintings, constructions, sculpture and drawings that pushed the frontiers of visual perception” for more than 40 years. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1929, he received his BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1957 and his MFA from Carnegie Mellon in 1959. His work is held in numerous national and international museums as well as significant private collections.
The CFA Alumni Reception is scheduled for Friday, October 30, 3-5PM, in the Great Hall, College of Fine Arts. The reception is an opportunity for all CFA alumni to see former faculty, staff and friends. I do hope you will be able to attend.
